Hands-On
Sources
A great source for OpenDoc parts is Apple's OpenDoc SDK,
usually released on CD-ROM, and also available on Apple's OpenDoc
Live Web pages for developers. There are various other web sites that
also provide access to OpenDoc parts. See the section of this course on
Reusable Components for details.
The best source for Cyberdog parts and programming information is the Cyberdog
SDK, available on CD-ROM from Apple. You can also get Cyberdog
from the Web.
Setup
You need to install OpenDoc and SOM to try out these samples.
You will usually want to also install the ODFLibrary and the Cyberdog libraries.
Both OpenDoc and Cyberdog provide normal Macintosh installer scripts. You
may have to install ODFLibrary manually. Simply copy it to your hard disk,
and then put an alias to it in your Editors folder.
About the Editors folder
For OpenDoc releases 1.0 or 1.0.4, the Editors folder on your
boot drive should be located in the System folder. On any other mounted
volumes, the Editors folder should be located at the root level.
